The Old Soul New Stage Concert Preview at the Brand New Citizen’s Live at the Wylie was electric. From relatable Pittsburgh concert songs to heartfelt original performances from both NASH.V.ILL and Pittsburgh Native Donnie Iris & The Cruisers, along with various RNB bands to open at 7pm.

The brand new event setting was the main character of the evening. The Citizen’s Live at the Wylie was a perfect indoor concert setting mixed with a healthy variety of restaurants and even vinyl bars. The beautiful two rooftop views overlook Pittsburgh’s Downtown stretch down Washington Pl. The nights turnout was eventful and packed with Pittsburgh residents. Donnie Isis & The Crusiers hosted a tribute to Donnie Isis himself as they talked about his dedication to music and his career through his ongoing fight with cancer. The Pittsburgh legend ended the night in flare.

The new venue helped add another level to the concert experience. Instead of feeling like a traditional indoor concert, Citizens Live at the Wylie gave people the opportunity to move around the building, grab food, listen to music and enjoy the views of downtown Pittsburgh. The rooftop areas especially gave the crowd a chance to take in the city while still being close to the action happening inside.

The different performers also helped make the night feel like a celebration of Pittsburgh’s music scene. NASH.V.ILL brought original music to the stage, while the R&B bands helped get the crowd involved early in the night. The variety of performances kept the music from feeling repetitive and gave different artists an opportunity to showcase their own styles.

The tribute to Donnie Iris was one of the most meaningful parts of the evening. Hearing about his dedication to music and his career while he continues to fight cancer gave the performance a deeper meaning for the Pittsburgh crowd. Iris’ connection to the city was clear as fans gathered to celebrate his music and his career.

By the end of the night, the packed venue and energy from the crowd showed the excitement surrounding the new space. Donnie Iris & The Cruisers closed out the evening with a memorable performance, leaving Pittsburgh residents with an energetic introduction to Citizens Live at the Wylie and a night that celebrated music, community and the city itself.
