“I love you, Virginia Beach!” yelled diamond* as he came out for his performance.

YSL brings energy unlike others, and it’s clear they love their fans. Just before taking the stage, the members huddled backstage, arms wrapped around one another, appearing to pray. For a brief moment, the energy shifted. It felt like they had shut out all the surrounding noise, coming together as one, as a family, before stepping into the chaos of the crowd.

Young Thug entered to “Ski,” setting off the electric energy in the audience before the rest of the YSL members joined him onstage. Phones began flying toward the stage as fans tried to get them into the artists’ hands, and someone even threw a bra that landed near the pit barricade. The camera team jumped in to help shuttle phones back and forth between fans and the artists, adding to the spontaneous interaction and connection between performer and audience unfolding around the stage.

Throughout the performance, YSL members tossed dollar bills and LooseLeaf Cookies & Cream into the crowd. “We threw way more than $2,000,” said Tezzus.

The interaction didn’t stay onstage for long. Nearly all of the YSL members made their way down to the pit barricade, getting face-to-face with fans along the front row. Tezzus took it even further, launching himself into the crowd to surf above the audience, one more moment in a set built around pure fan connection.
